Call of Duty: Warzone continues to have frequent hacker problems despite the developer’s best efforts. Although hackers create unfair situations in the game, they also serve a unique dual purpose. Slowly, hackers in Warzone are bringing the community together against a common enemy.
Most players who queue up in Warzone expect there to be a hacker or two in each lobby. While normally the hacker dominates there is occasionally players skilled enough to give even a cheater a challenge. As one such player destroys a hacker, it is the community that stands by him till the end that makes this such a unique situation.
The video starts in the middle of a gunfight between Reddit user CaptainXCook and a very obvious wall-hack-using player. The entire battle occurred on CaptainX’s live stream, heating up when he peeks over an edge only to get beamed down by the enemy. After a quick self revive, he buckles down and repositions, rushing the hacking player, who has since moved on, believing his target to be dead.
Using an equally deadly weapon, CaptainX brings down the player and finishes the kill before they can self-revive, celebrating by ‘teabagging’ the cheating player’s corpse. As the match plays out CaptainX eventually wins the round, finding another interesting surprise waiting for him in the post-game lobby.
Waiting in the post-match lobby was a group of players who had been gunned down by the cheating wall-hack user. They had waited until the very end to celebrate and congratulate the streamer for bringing down the hacker who at that point had racked up 26 kills alone.
The fact that this streamer was fast enough to overtake a cheating player is a testament to his skill. Although the opponent should have had the advantage it was due to their unskilled behavior that the streamer won the fight delivering a rightful punishment to the player.
The constant plague of hackers does cause problems for many players within the Warzone community. Still, there is a level of camaraderie and respect among the game’s players for those who can overcome adversity against the joint enemy. While Warzone is a battle royale that pits all players against each other, there is still a pure divide between those who hack the game and those who choose to play fair. With every player that overcomes the hackers they learn one thing, their cheating will only force the Warzone community to get better at the game.
