Super Mario 3D All-Stars Reveals Main Menu Screen | Game Rant

Super Mario 3D All-Stars was one of the worst kept secrets of the year, as it was long rumored about thanks to various leaks. Now that the new 3D Mario collection was finally been revealed, fans are eagerly awaiting the game’s release, as well as any additional information that may present itself before the launch.

Nintendo recently showed off new gameplay of Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and now more in-game information has been shared. The main menu screen of the collection title is finally available to see, and it looks unique and pretty.

On the official Nintendo YouTube page, a video was been released that shows new gameplay of Super Mario 3D All-Stars. One of the first things that will be noticed is the main menu. Players will be able to select between Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. When highlighting each option in the main menu, a video is shown with gameplay of that title in the background. Information is also shown about the game’s release, as well as the story.

The main menu looks very crisp. The layout is very different than say the NES Classic menu, and it works very well as a celebratory 35th anniversary of the Super Mario game. As opposed to choosing from static images, the gameplay being played in the background while selecting each game is a very nice touch.

The little notes about the game’s release also help Super Mario 3D All-Stars feel like a true collector’s item. For example, the game details that Super Mario 64 is the series’s first entry in 3D action, launched alongside the Nintendo 64, and set the standard for games moving forward.

Along with selecting the games, the music can also be selected from the main menu. Players can simply pick music to listen to and enjoy like a glorified MP3 player, but they can also select what music they’d like to listen to from the main menu. One thing that is interesting to note is that Super Mario Galaxy 2 music can be played inside Super Mario 3D All-Stars, even if that classic Wii title is not playable.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is already sold-out on Amazon. For the Nintendo faithful, it is genuinely hard to pass up on being able to play some of the all-time great entries into the franchise in glorious HD. While it is a bit frustrating to some that the game doesn’t have massive updates or graphical overhauls, the ease of being able to play the titles on the go on the Nintendo Switch and simply having them to enjoy is a nice Fall video game treat.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is set to release on September 18, 2020, exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.
