10 Lingering Questions We Have After The End Of Marvel’s Avengers

It is safe to say that the Marvel’s Avengers game left things open for a sequel. It had not one, but two big cliffhangers. Some of that might be settled in DLC while other things might have to wait for a bigger expansion and/or a sequel. If it gets one, that is.

The ending wasn’t the only jaw-dropping moment of the game that has left some fans scratching their heads. The entire story was practically sprinkled with odds and ends just waiting to be questioned. It should be obvious, but to destroy any doubt, these ten entries will be spoiler filled.

10 The World Of Heroes

One of the biggest questions on the minds of fans is how big is this world of superheroes? There is the main team in the game along with Captain Marvel who is mentioned by name and has merchandise and Ant-Man as well. Taskmaster and Abomination create the idea that these villains have a past with the Avengers. SHIELD is also an established organization. Who else is out there that is known right now on both the good and bad side? Is this it?

9 The Turn

This is more like an idea that doesn’t make sense rather than a question. Propaganda can help turn the tides of any war and maybe the media, along with AIM’s prompts, could put an end to the Avengers. Would that really be enough to stop them even with the accompanying tragedy of Captain America’s “death?” It seems a bit too far-fetched that it would go so smoothly. So again, why did the world turn on the Avengers so fast?

8 Who Took The Photo?

Before the end credits start rolling, players once again get into Kamala’s room. The game closes out on a zoom in of Kamala with the Avengers on A-Day. That seems to be a plot hole.

There is never a moment where this could happen as players have complete control over that initial tutorial. Maybe it’s a doctored photo?

7 Chimera Saved And Retreated

During A-Day, Chimera goes down and causes a huge explosion, killing thousands and infecting the area on top of that. After this happened, how was Chimera able to not only be recovered from the water, but sustain enough power to make it to its current hiding place in the Marvel’s Avengers game? If the Avengers were blamed, one would think the ship would go into the hands of AIM. Maybe some DLC can shine some light on its great escape via Bruce perhaps.

6 Why Was Captain America’s “Betrayal” Hidden?

Kamala is the driving force of this game. Even though most of the worlds turns on heroes, she still believes. Once she finds the hidden footage of Captain America, she is convinced there is shenanigans involved. This is why she is pursued making the audience think that AIM doesn’t want the truth to be told. However, it turns out Captain America was responsible. If that is true, why wouldn’t AIM want to share that with the world in order to make the Avengers look even worse?

5 Did Monica Do Anything To Kamala?

Kamala gets captured about halfway  through the game and she is seen on an operating table. Did Monica do anything to her? She doesn’t present any symptoms involving experimentation in the game but maybe she wasn’t exactly the subject. Monica could have collected her DNA in order to create a clone that could appear in later installments. Maybe her powers could even be infused in robots.

4 Who Makes The Merchandise?

This is another question that is more about the senselessness about the universe that the Marvel’s Avengers game establishes. Who is creating all of the Avengers merchandise? Does everyone on the team get a cut?

Is it like The Boys where everyone has a marketing deal? Maybe everything is bootlegged. If that’s the case maybe some future DLC could involve a court case and play out like a Phoenix Wright game. She-Hulk is a lawyer after all and her name was spotted in the beta leak.

3 Jessica Yi’s Whereabouts

Who is Jessica Yi? Not much is known about her other than her name and powers to duplicate herself. As of right now it’s even harder to deduce because she is not a character in the comics. Games have done this before where they try and trick players into thinking a character is new, but is secretly someone else. The Arkham Knight was created for Batman: Arkham Knight and it turned out to be an alternate name for the Red Hood aka Jason Todd. Who could Jessica turn into in Marvel’s Avengers game?

2 Monica’s Powers

Monica doesn’t seem, at first, to have powers in the game or comics, besides her intelligence. She is later injected with the serum via MODOK and survives. Also, when this happens, her eyes change color. When Jessica Yi is said to duplicate, this happens as well. So, based on that, and the tank girls in the final scene, it is safe to assume she can now clone herself with powers. How this factors into the sequel is the real question.

1 MODOK’s Whereabouts

The other aforementioned villain is a bit more mysterious. When Kamala finishes him off in his robot, the cutscene makes it look like he falls in the water. It then warps into Kamala’s room without tying up that loose end. Did the Avengers search the water for his body? If so they didn’t try hard enough because some sort of green light escapes from the robot in the end. Was it MODOK or someone else?
