PC players have some new hardware to potentially look forward to, as Roccat and Turtle Beach have announced a new headset line called the Roccat Elo Series, launching this fall.
The three brand new headsets in the Elo Series are the Elo X Stereo, the Elo 7.1 USB, and the Elo Air. All three headsets will launch in early October, just before the launch of Microsoft Xbox Series X and Sony’s PlayStation 5.
The Elo X Stereo is said to feature 50mm drivers aimed to deliver high quality sound and features a 3.5mm jack providing cross-platform support for consoles, joining the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 V2 which released earlier in the month. The headset will include memory foam cushions and headband that’s self-adjusting for varying head sizes and is said to be glasses-friendly. When released, the headset will retail for $49.99
Turtle Beach has indicated that the Elo 7.1 USB will include 7.1 channel surround sound with variable Mic Monitoring, and what the manufacturer promises to be high-sensitivity with the Turtle Beach’s TruSpeak microphone to make communication as clear as possible, something that’s a necessity when trying to coordinate with teammates in Call of Duty‘s multiplayer modes. The headset will come with a 7.1 USB and, like the Elo X Stereo, includes a self-adjusting metal headband. The Elo 7.1 USB will retail for $69.99.
The final headset, Roccat’s Elo Air, has full wireless functionality across all platforms. Also featuring 7.1 surround sound, the headset promises to have a long-lasting battery life that runs on average of 24 hours. In addition, Turtle Beach promises the same comfort and microphone technology included in the Elo X Stereo in the wireless Elo Air. Turtle Beach will include sound settings in the Elo Air for players looking to adjust their game experience. The Elo 7.1 USB will retail for $99.99
Earlier in year, Turtle Beach introduced the Elite Pro 2, with the SuperAmp attachment for more customizations. The Elite Pro 2 received positive reviews from gaming websites with many praising the delivery of high-quality sound and noise-cancelling capabilities through the headset’s 50mm Nanoclear speakers.
COVID-19 has hit the game industry hard, with many publishers and developers having to reorganize reveals and release schedules due to work from home mandates. Despite its impact, Turtle Beach announced that its July 2020 sales in both revenue and units sold in July were the highest in company history in North America. In addition, Turtle Beach announced that its headset sales made for over half of all console headsets sold in the region.
The Roccat Elo Series of headsets will launch worldwide on October 4th.
