Fortnite: Where to Find and Destroy Gatherers | Game Rant

As Fortnite‘s fourth season enters its fourth week, the battle royale is pitting players against several robot enemies throughout the in-game world. While fans have already encountered Galactus’ larger Gorger drones as part of the ongoing Marvel crossover, they must now also face down the Gorgers’ offspring, the Gatherers, in two of Fortnite‘s weekly challenges.

This week, Fortnite is requiring players to destroy twenty Gatherers and deal 10,000 damage with the Gatherers’ remains. In order to complete these missions, players must first locate a Gorger, which can spawn in various locations, including FN Radio, Holly Hedges, Lazy Lake Island, Retail Row, Salty Springs and Slurpy Swamps. In order to spot the Gorger’s arrival, players must hover in the sky with their parachute until they see a beam of red light. By flying to it, they will locate the Gorger necessary for these two challenges.

As the Gorger creates twenty Gatherers, a player can complete the fourth week’s first drone-based weekly challenge by defeating them. In order to earn the 10,000 damage for the second challenge, one can pick up and use the Gatherers’ body in combat against the Gorger or against fellow players.

However, since the Gatherers explode a few seconds after death, and because only the Gorger can produce the twenty Gatherers necessary for the challenge, players must take care to avoid damaging themselves, and to not accidentally kill the Gorger too early. For dealing 10,000 points of damage with the Gatherer remains, players will receive 50,000 experience points. Killing the Gatherers themselves will give winners 25,000 experience points.

Although the missions seem relatively simple, there are a few caveats. Once the player has armed himself with the Gatherer remains, they cannot switch weapons or build, adding a new twist to combat. And while the Gorger does not directly damage the player, it may become more difficult to manage as it spawns waves of Gatherers. These are not the only robot themed challenges this week though – players must also go to Stark Industries and hack robots.

Despite the potential difficulty of these objectives, Fortnite players may enjoy the challenging nature of these missions. By leaving challenges like the Collector Case mission in a variety of locations around the map, Epic Games is excellently encouraging exploration of the game’s world and using its Marvel setting to the fullest. Hopefully, this week’s challenges will keep fans engaged until Fortnite‘s most recent crossover continues next week.

Fortnite is available now on Android, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
