Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Alpha Loadout And Scorestreak Options

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Alpha is set to introduce players to new maps, game modes, and operators as they battle it out in the next generation of Call of Duty warfare. Players will get a sample of the intense Black Ops Cold War combat system and a chance to customize their own loadouts to a limited capacity.

Although the Alpha is filled with different game modes, battles, and powerful vehicles, many fans are looking forward to a more subtle part of the demo.  Rumors have circulated revolving around the Black Ops Cold War adaptation of the Gunsmith system, and now fans will finally get a good look at how it functions.

Players who take part in the Black Ops Cold War Alpha will get a first look into the new Field Upgrades, Create-a-Class, Gunsmith, and Scorestreak systems. Each of these is expected to be showcased at a limited level, giving fans the general idea of what they will look like upon the final release.

Field Upgrades work similarly to Modern Warfare, being a  piece of equipment that is earned over an extended period of in-game time. Each of these items can help or hinder depending on the item selected and its general application. The Create-a-Class system follows the Call of Duty standard formula of primary, secondary, lethal, tactical, and three perks but now it has the returning feature of Wild Cards. These cards are used to edit the rules of the Create-a-Class system allowing players more flexibility. The Alpha demo will come with four options for fans to test out.

When designing their first class, players will have a few default loadouts designed for a pick-up and play style of interaction. Each of the default loadouts comes with a developer-tailored selection of Cold War gear, but players will still be able to modify the in-game kits to a limited degree. These default builds are meant to be a framework for fans to work around before customizing their final arsenal.

Once players have their builds, they will be able to select from several Alpha Scorestreaks. The list will be the same as when Streamers and other content creators demoed the title, so fans already have an idea of what will be found. Black Ops Cold War uses an alternate version of the Scorestreak system, so kills are just as important as objective play.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Alpha will run from September 18th to the 20th, giving PlayStation fans only a few days to sample the title.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on November 13th for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
