A new Nintendo Direct mini presentation debuted Thursday morning. With it, several major game announcements for the Nintendo Switch were made, including for Monster Hunter Rise, Disgaea 6, Rune Factory 5, and more. Nintendo’s big final announcement confirmed the return of a partnership with Microsoft, and the return of protagonist Ori as well. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Better yet, Ori and the Will of the Wisps launches on Switch today.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a 2D platformer with limited action combat. It initially launched on PC and Xbox One in March, earlier this year. Like its predecessor, Ori and the Blind Forest, Ori and the Will of the Wisps was very well-received. Not only does or and the Will of the Wisps have incredibly fluid movement and combat, but it has beautiful visuals rich with color.
While Ori and the Will of the Wisps coming to Nintendo Switch is a big enough announcement on its own, the developers at Moon Studios had something else to reveal, too. Ori will be receiving a limited physical Collector’s Edition, in partnership with iam8bit. The Ori Collector’s Edition will include physical editions of both Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps on PC, Switch, or Xbox One; retails for $149.99, and is tentatively planned to release in December later this year.
Outside of physical copies of the two action-platforming games, there’s plenty else that will be included in the Ori Collector’s Edition. Listed contents include a “Majestic” stained glass-style art piece, “The Flora & Fauna of Ori” field guide, a sketchbook zine filled with production art, a collectible art card set, a hard enamel glow-in-the-dark pin, and digital download cards for both Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps‘ soundtracks.
Even though the Ori Collector’s Edition is a pricey $150, those hoping to celebrate such a great franchise are certain to be pleased with what Moon Studios and iam8bit have put together. The two have also partnered in the past to offer vinyl LPs for both Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps‘ soundtracks.
But for those wanting to keep it simple to start and play Ori and the Will of the Wisps digital on Nintendo Switch, the wait won’t be long. Ori and the Will of the Wisps launches on Nintendo Switch later today. Pricing hasn’t been confirmed, but it was initially launched at $29.99 on PC and Xbox One.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is available on PC, Switch, and Xbox One.
