There will be more PS5 stock available compared to when PS4 hit shelves

There will be more stock of PS5 when it launches then there were of PS4 when it hit shelves in 2013.

This is according to Sony boss Jim Ryan who told the Washington Post there would be more PS5 units available than the last time the company launched a console.

“For quite some time, in the early part of COVID, that picture was far from clear,” said Ryan. “Just as the supply things was unclear, would there be any market? Would anyone be allowed to go outside? Would any shops be open? This has been a year like no other. But all of that just reinforced our resolve, and the path we determined at the start of the year was absolutely the right one.”

According to figures, close to 2.1 million PS4 units sold within two weeks of launch, and one million were sold on day one.

A recent report suggests Sony has booked 60 Delta planes to facilitate faster shipping of its console. The firm also recently denied claims it cut PS5 production by 4 million due to yield problems.

Pre-orders for the console are now live and reserved stock seems to be going rather quickly, according to rumblings on the internet. If you want to keep up with news on when you can pre-order and where be sure to bookmark our page.

PS5 will launch November 12 in select regions and November 19 for the rest of the world.
