It’s been a bit of time since gamers heard from the King of all Cosmos and the Prince but it seems the duos most recent outing is expanding platforms. The last entry in the Katamari franchise was a remake of the original title with Katamari Damacy Reroll back in 2018. With the remake being a Switch and PC exclusive, two years later the Prince returns to teach players the art of making stars.
Katamari Damacy Reroll is officially coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year. The announcement came via Bandai Namco‘s official YouTube page which uploaded a trailer for the ports. The trailer itself is only 20-seconds long but it confirms that Katamari Damacy Reroll is coming to the new consoles on November 20.
The news of the remake coming to new consoles isn’t exactly new information with ports of Katamari Damacy Reroll confirmed for Japanese release back in late August. This new trailer is the official confirmation of a western release for the game on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. These ports release almost two years after the original Nintendo Switch version launched in 2018.
Katamari Damacy is a weird game that oozes a charm that has made the title timeless. Even a simple and short trailer meant to announce new platforms still has the same wonderment found throughout the over 15-year-old franchise. A lot of that is due to series creator Keita Takahashi whose most recent project Wattam released last year to positive reviews.
Katamari Damacy Reroll is available now for the Nintendo Switch and PC and will release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 20.
