Valorant Spike Rush XP Earn Rate Secretly Buffed | Game Rant

Since Valorant was released as a full game this June, many players have enjoyed the first person shooter. Even though this is the case, there have still been criticisms across the player base from casual players to streamers such as Shroud. Recently, Riot Games patched the game and fixed a rather prominent issue without making it widely known.

Players who are trying to gain XP in Valorant are limited in the ways they can obtain it. Typically, playing Competitive or Unrated matches are considered the best way to get XP in the game, and players who win gain an increased amount as well. However, other game modes like Spike Rush and Deathmatch are more difficult to gain XP due to its fixed rate.

Spike Rush used to give players 1,000 XP for the game, regardless of how well Valorant players preformed. However, with the recent changes included in Valorant’s Patch 1.08, the amount of XP that players gain from this game mode is now 1,250. With this increased XP, players now have a higher incentive to play this mode. When players get enough XP, they can unlock special rewards through the game’s battle pass system, so those who are seeking out these points will be more likely to play Spike Rush. Four games on this mode will give players the same number of XP that they would have gotten from five games before the recent patch.

While the Valorant community seems to largely appreciate the change, it will not be in the game for long. A Riot Games dev revealed that the XP increase is not going to be permanently implemented for the game mode. According to the developer, the XP increase was included to offset a bug that is affecting Spike Rush matches. Riot Games is currently working to fix the bug, and as soon as this has been accomplished, then the XP amount will be reverted back to 1,000.

Many players are excited to see the bug dealt with, but they are also hoping that this XP change stays around longer. Some commenters suggested popularizing the game mode by adding special times where the extra 250 XP will be added back to the game mode or giving the larger amount of points to Spike Rush winners. Riot Games has not responded to these suggestions, but many are hoping that the developer will incentivize more players to participate and try to win in this game mode.

Valorant is available now for PC.
