9 Wabbajack – Skyrim

This Daedric staff will allow its wielders to cast a powerful magic that will either blast elemental attacks or turn their enemies into any random creature. Often times it becomes too random that the game itself actually breaks. With all things considered, though, it’s pretty fair to place this weapon as one of the most overpowered weapons in Skyrim, and in RPGs entirely. A weapon that’s capable of turning its enemies into anything or just obliterate them where they stand is most certainly a weapon worthy of being in this discussion.

8 Buster Sword – Final Fantasy VII

It’s hard to think about Cloud Strife and Final Fantasy VII without thinking of this gigantic blade. An iconic weapon in RPG, the Buster Sword has surely seen its fair share of fights, and many who are foolish enough to face and clash with this enormous sword have met an untimely demise.

Described as being 5 to 6ft long, wielding this gigantic broadsword is no easy feat, but once the wielder is able to master it, they will be able to conquer anything and defeat anyone. This weapon is so iconic that it made several appearances outside of its own universe.

7 Keyblade – Kingdom Hearts

Similar to how synonymous the Buster Sword has become with Cloud Strife, so has the Keyblade with Sora. This particular weapon is the weapon of choice of Kingdom Heart‘s protagonist. It is very unique and diverse as it can change forms just by changing the key chain attached to it. This change isn’t just purely cosmetic too! Changing the weapon’s appearance provides it with additional stats and abilities, with the Ultima Weapon being its ultimate and most powerful version. Oh, and it can open locks too. It is a keyblade after all.

6 Lightsaber – Star Wars Games

5 The Master Sword – The Legend Of Zelda

The Master Sword is a weapon featured in multiple Legend of Zelda games and it comes in different names. The Legendary Sword, Sword of Resurrection, the Sacred Sword, etc. It’s most recent iteration appears in the latest Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and it is just as powerful as ever.

Considered to be the most powerful weapon in the game, and the most challenging to obtain, it has characteristics very similar to that of King Arthur’s Excalibur. Once the player is strong enough to pull it out of its resting place, they’re treated with a powerful weapon that’s capable of firing Sword Beams and become stronger when used against evil creatures. The perfect weapon for a righteous hero.

4 MIRV – Fallout

The Experimental MIRV is a weapon found in Fallout and is a variation of the Fat Man range of weapons. Meaning, this weapon is heavy and it packs an incredibly powerful punch.

The MIRV, when fired, will launch 8 mini nuclear bombs! That’s right, this weapon is a miniature weapon of mass destruction. Bringing this to a gunfight is the definition of overkill, but it will surely give the players a guaranteed win. This weapon is so powerful that every time it makes an impact, even the screen shakes. The only drawback of this weapon is that it can be inaccurate and it can kill the person firing it if he’s too close.

3 Leviathan Axe – God Of War

When God of War underwent a massive overhaul in its latest game, it only made sense for the developers to give Kratos a new weapon to handle. Lo and behold, he received the Leviathan Axe. This weapon is supposed to be the “anti-Mjolnir.” So, if there’s a weapon enough powerful enough to stop the most powerful weapon across the Nine Realms, it’s the Leviathan Axe. That’s the pure definition of overpowered. Plus, Kratos himself is the one wielding it. That makes the weapon automatically more overpowered than it already is.

2 Aerondight – Witcher 3

The Aerondight is an addition that was brought to Witcher 3 alongside the Blood and Wine DLC. It actually made its first appearance in Witcher 2, with Geralt seemingly having lost the weapon after stabbing a dragon with it.

In Witcher 3, this weapon is considered overpowered because it becomes more powerful the more the wielder uses it. Every monster kill using this weapon will grant an additional charge that provides more damage to this weapon. Each time Geralt kills an enemy with this sword, he becomes stronger. There is a limit to the number of charges it gains, but it’s more than enough to get the players through the end of the game.

1 Heavy Bowgun – Monster Hunter: World

In a world filled with intimidating, towering monsters, it will serve a monster hunter to equip themselves with a weapon that’s powerful enough to down even the most powerful beast. That’s what the Heavy Bowgun is capable of doing. Found in Monster Hunter: Worldthis weapon is considered to be the most powerful weapon in the game. This is a game filled with powerful weapons to begin with to match the most difficult monsters in the game, and there are no shortages of that.

A weapon this powerful should have its drawbacks, and the Heavy Bowgun is no exception. While it provides the highest damage output in the game, it is also extremely slow. Players must know when to time their attacks right when using this weapon, but once they master using it, they’ll be able to move around the world of Monster Hunter like a badass.
