Hades, the action-centered roguelike developed by Supergiant Games, has sold over 1,000,000 copies across PC and Nintendo Switch.
Hades, which initially launched in early access back in December 2018, saw a surprise launch on Switch last week after a Nintendo Direct Mini showed off a series of third-party games for the console.
According to Supergiant Games, 700,000 players took part in the title’s early access development and an additional 300,000 players picked the game up since its official launch.
Hades has now sold more than 1,000,000 copies.
700,000 of these were during our Early Access development. To all our Early Access players: Thank you so much. We designed Hades for Early Access, believing you could help us make a better game. That’s just what you did. #HadesGame pic.twitter.com/ueuG4lDMz8

The game has quietly become one of the highest-rated titles of the year, securing an impressive 91 on Metacritic for the PC version of the game, and 94 on Switch.
If you’re simply going on Metacritic ratings, that puts the mythologically-fuelled roguelike up there with the likes of Persona 5 Royal, The Last of Us Part II, and Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Chalk that one up as another success for Supergiant Games, then. It’s not surprising given that Pyre, Transistor and Bastion have each enjoyed critical and commercial successes before, too.
