New Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC 2 Screenshots Show Off Super Saiyan Blue, Golden Frieza

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC 2 must be drawing near, as Bandai Namco has begun to share screenshots from the upcoming expansion. The latest of those screenshots shows off Goku and Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue form and official images of Golden Frieza within Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, as well as some other nice surprises.

Most of this information is nothing that fans hadn’t already deduced themselves or seen in V Jump scans, but this serves as yet more official confirmation. Unfortunately, there still isn’t any solid release date for when fans will finally be able to fight Golden Frieza in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, but it should be coming sooner rather than later.

The screenshots don’t reveal to much, but they do give fans an idea of what to expect from Golden Frieza. Two of the evil emperor’s techniques are shown off here, both battering a Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. Other enemies are shown too, including the triumphant return of some of Frieza’s henchmen.

The first picture simply shows Vegeta and Goku in their Super Saiyan Blue forms, though it does confirm that the two will be wearing their Whis outfits this time around. The second photo shows Golden Frieza punching Vegeta, most likely with a special technique. Given the Golden Frieza moveset revealed earlier, this is probably either Golden Rush or Golden Edge. The third screenshot has interesting implications, as it shows Namek Saga enemies like Zarbon, Dodoria, Apule, and Cui back from the dead facing off against Piccolo. Finally, the fourth image shows what can only be Frieza’s Golden Death Ball attack.

The third screenshot is particularly notable, as all of those characters were killed on Namek in the original story and therefore never showed up during the Resurrection F arc. By contrast, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players are able to revive these enemies with the Dragon Balls, unlocking a sub-story where they must be defeated again. Their inclusion in DLC 2 implies that these resurrections are canon within the story of the game, meaning other revived villains like Cell and Dabura could potentially return in the future.

Fan reaction to these screenshots is mostly indifferent given that they don’t really contain any new information. More than anything, fans just want to see a release date for DLC 2. Nine months have passed since Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot released, and it has been almost half a year since DLC 1 released, so fans are ready for a reason to jump back into the game.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
