Becoming an internet sensation since its debut last month, Fall Guys has quickly become one of the biggest games of 2020, setting a record for the most downloaded PS Plus game of all time and becoming Twitch’s third most-watched game of August this year. Of course, fans know that a big switch-up is coming, with Season 2 meant to hit the game in early-October.
The new season will center around a medieval theme, with the trailer showing off stages with castles, fall guys dressed up as knights, and new moveable ramps that can be used to traverse obstacles. It looks to be a big new slice of content for the incredibly popular game, which Mediatonic only seems to be reinforcing through several new images posted to the title’s Twitter account.
Through the new pictures, it’s clear the game will be offering some more familiar rounds alongside new ones, with the first two images showcasing what appears to be a variant of Egg Scramble from Season 1. The major difference is the more precarious layout of the arena, with narrow drawbridges connecting to the pile of eggs in the center. Seeing as the current Egg Scramble is quite a hectic game mode, it might make for a more tactical take on the concept. It also provides a decent look at the costumes available in the new season, with wizards, dragons, and Vikings wading into the pile of eggs.
The next image shows off a variant of Hoopsie Daisy within the medieval arena, seeing players climb themed obstacles to reach the hoops. Drawbridges, cages, and castle towers are spread across the map, with the arena itself seeming far more spacious than the original Hoopsie Daisy in Season 1. The final image appears to depict a new obstacle course, seeing players teaming up to push large boxes to a castle wall to climb over it. It’s easy to predict that the communal obstacle is going to be a colossal pain when Season 2 launches, especially considering the hellish fiasco that is playing See-Saw.
Overall, Season 2 looks to be an exciting dose of new Fall Guys content. Seeing as a lot of players have loved the new additions to the title in the recent Big Yeetus and Anti-Cheetus update, it’s sure to go down a treat for the game’s biggest fans. Until then though, there’s still a lot of fun things to enjoy in the game’s current season, with Mediatonic frequently adding fun new skins and other great content.
Fall Guys: Season 2 will be available on October 6 for PC and PlayStation 4.
