As of today, players can finally dive into Fortnite‘s Week 5 challenges, but some of them are actually rather difficult to complete. Of the nine challenges available for players to tackle this week, there’s a good variety of combat and exploration based options, as well as a wealth of Season 4 Battle Pass XP to be earned.
Each week, Fortnite releases new challenges to keep things fresh and provide players with new ways to earn XP. Assuming players have already wrapped up completing the previous week’s challenges, they may want to move on to this week’s as soon as possible. The list of all nine challenges is as follows.
- Search Chests at Doom’s Domain (0/7)
- Eliminations at Dirty Docks (0/3)
- Drive a car from Slurpy Swamp to Catty Corner in less than 4 minutes without getting out (0/1)
- Collect Floating Rings at Coral Castle (0/1)
- In a vehicle, jump through the flaming rings at Salty Springs (0/1)
- Make a Stark Robot dance (0/1)
- Destroy Gorgers (0/1)
- Deal damage to opponents at The Authority (0/500)
- Deal damage to opponents at Stark Industries (0/500)
This challenge requires players to search a total of seven chests at Doom’s Domain, though they do not have to be all in one playthrough. Finding Doom’s Domain should be fairly easy as the point of interest is marked on the map, but players can look for the large statue of Doctor Doom if they’re still having trouble.
From here, players will need to locate the chest in this area, found on the same floor as the helipad. Find the room with the safe and head up the staircase on the left side, this will lead directly to the chest. It is possible to get this chest at the start of the game, and players will need to do this at least seven times to complete this challenge. While here, players that manage to defeat Fortnite‘s Doctor Doom can get some loot to help with the rest of the game.
Like the previous challenge, Dirty Docks can be found on the map and is located at the far eastern edge of the island. This one is particularly difficult as it requires PVP, but with enough patience it should be doable. Dirty Docks is a relatively popular landing site as well, and since other players will be attempting to achieve this challenge as well, there should be no shortage of enemies. All players will need to do is land in or near Dirty Docks, find a decent weapon, and try and get as many eliminations as they can. Choosing a game mode that allows for respawning may make this a lot easier.
In order to successfully drive a car from Catty Corner to Slurpy Swamp, players will need a little bit of luck on their side. To start, land in Catty Corner and look for a car. It’s important that it has enough fuel (around 50% should be more than enough) to make the journey, and finding a faster vehicle will make things easier as well. Players should follow the road that runs east out of Catty Corner and stick to it. At some point, the road will split into two directions, so be sure to take the path to the right. This road will then take players through Misty Meadows, so watch out for other players during this part. After crossing the bridge, players will reach Catty Corner and should have plenty of time to spare.
Despite saying (0/1), players will actually need to collect all four floating rings at Coral Castle just like the previous floating rings challenge. The Point of Interest itself is marked on the map and should be easy to find, but as it is a large area the rings can be elusive. All four rings are on top of buildings, so it is important to collect some building materials before attempting this. The approximate location of each ring is marked on the map above, though they shouldn’t be too hard to see.
For this challenge, players should drop in on Salty Springs, again marked on the map. Note that the ring of fire won’t appear until the player enters a vehicle, but after that point they should be able to see it at the end of a ramp. Simply drive any of Fortnite‘s many vehicles up the ramp and the challenge should complete as the player careens through the flaming ring.
In order to make a Stark Robot dance, players will need to use a bit of critical thinking. The first step is to find one, and the best places for this are either Stark Industries or one of the many Quinjets located throughout the map. After downing a Stark Robot, players will need to hack it. Once hacked, dancing next to the robot will cause it to dance alongside the player.
Destroying a Gorger can be pretty tough, especially if the player doesn’t know what to look for. A Gorger can be found by noticing the large red beacon that appears whenever one spawns. Head over to this location with the best weapon available and get to work. Gorgers only take damage from normal weapons if the player targets the glowing yellow weak spot, but killing the Gatherer minions it spawns has a chance to drop a more powerful weapon that deals full damage to the Gorger regardless of where it hits.
The final two challenges in Week 5 are as cut and dry as can be, simply requiring players to deal 500 damage to opponents at both of these locations. Stark Industries and The Authority are both marked on the map so players shouldn’t have any trouble finding them, and at that point it’s just about trying to deal enough damage. Again, getting this challenge completed is much easier in game modes that allow for respawning, but players comfortable with their skill could do it in the standard Battle Royale mode if they so choose.
Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
