Eating Taco Bell isn’t always an exciting experience, especially since the fast-food franchise cuts items off its menu. However, when it’s the season for next-gen console launches, eating Taco Bell can be a lot more fun. Taco Bell partnered with Microsoft again to offer free Xbox Series X consoles as prizes for buying food, and some Taco Bell customers are already showing off their winning code redemptions.
Rising on the Xbox Series X subreddit is a post from user Frostedfires. “OMG Taco Beall [sic] and Xbox THANK YOU!!” is the title of the post, and accompanying it is a screen capture of the form confirming they’ve won a next-gen console. The form congratulates them for winning an Xbox Series X prize and mentions they will receive a confirmation via their email address, too.
The prize pack doesn’t just include an Xbox Series X console, though at $499 that would probably be a worthy prize in its own. Also included in the bundle is a code for six months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which typically retails for $15 a month. However, there are no physical games included with the bundle.
Frostedfires isn’t the only person to win a free Xbox Series X. Twitter user RAZOR_1_KILLER posted that the first code he entered on the redemption website came up with a win. There are likely others as well, but there is no hashtag associated with the contest, so there’s no easy way of keeping track. Regardless, it’s clear the Taco Bell is already issuing wins.
Just because some have done it doesn’t mean that winning an Xbox Series X is easy. While getting a chance at winning is easy, the odds of winning aren’t high. All that’s required to enter is the purchase of a medium or large drink, and there will also be a chance to win without any purchase at the end of October when Taco Bell issues free codes for anyone to use. Luckily, the price of a soft drink is far lower than the Xbox Series X’s $499 price tag.
The contest is running from between now and November 4, so there’s more than a month until the contest closes. The contest is limited to those within the United States, and is only for those 18 years and older. Those hoping to win an Xbox Series X can register and redeem their codes on winxbox.com. Those on the other side of the fence hoping to win a Sony PlayStation 5 should instead look out for Doritos bags.
