Emotes are used to express emotion and point out various things in games. If you are a Borderlands player, you have probably seen others use emotes to point out directions or show general emotion about loot they’ve collected.
Maybe you have been mocked when you lost a duel or maybe you just saw one of the emotes and realized you don’t have it yet. We are here to detail each emote and where you can find them. There are a lot of them for sure, but that’s what farming is for. Let’s start with how to emote.
7 How To Emote
In case you’re new to the Borderlands 3 craze, emoting is rather easy to perform. To emote on PS4, you simply hold down the options button until the emote wheel appears. Xbox One users will need to do the same but with the menu button. You can then use your control stick to select the emote you want to perform and use either the X or A button to select it. On PC, the emote wheel is bound to the Z key. Simply push the button and it will pull up the wheel without the need of holding the button down.
6 Starting Emotes & How To Change Emotes
Players start the game knowing four emotes. These are; cheer, point, laugh, and wave. These don’t require any actions to unlock but are good starting emotes to help get players accustomed to them. Once you start getting more emotes, you can head over to Sanctuary to change them. Hit up the quick-change station and scroll on down to emotes to select new ones. Remember that you can only have four emotes set at one time. None of the starting emotes are locked, so you can change all of them out if you’d like.
5 Crazy Earl
Crazy Earl is the local eridium connoisseur that can be found yelling at customers off the cargo bay in Sanctuary III. Spending eridium with him can get you a bunch of in-game items that you can’t find anywhere else like weapon trinkets, skins, and (what we are after) emotes. He holds the emotes, Heart, Finger Guns, Robot Dance, Kick Dance, Chicken Dance, and Death. Unfortunately, more emotes haven’t been added to his shop, but if you are looking for something to spend your heaps of eridium on, he is the man. These emotes will cost you between 95 and 150 eridium each.
4 Moxxi’s Heist
The Moxxi’s Heist DLC introduced two new emotes to the game, Make it Rain and The Handsome. Make it Rain appears as an epic drop from any enemy in the DLC. It can be a little difficult to obtain, but in due time you will get it.
The Handsome emote can be obtained by farming the Jackpot boss at the end of the DLC. This boss can be difficult to take down, but corrosive damage will help speed things up. Thanks to the new amount of looks from DLC 4, things have gotten even crazier now.
3 Guns, Love, And Tentacles
Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Hammerlock, otherwise known as DLC 2, brought another two emotes to gather. This time, the emotes can be a little harder to get. The first emote, Portal, drops from the Loot Skritaari. These enemies spawn from the portal chests around the DLC. It can also be obtained from the mini boss Tom and Xam. Get ready to get down on one knee for the Marry Me emote. This one is obtained from farming the final boss, Eleanor and the Heart. Luckily, you don’t need to be on Mayhem Mode to obtain it.
2 Bounty Of Blood
Get ready to do some hunting Vault Hunter, these emotes take a bit more time to obtain. Another two emotes were added in the Bounty of Blood DLC. Both of these emotes require the completion of crew challenges to obtain.
Once completed, they will be sent to you via the in-game mail system. Crossed Arms is obtained by completing all of the Good Prospects crew challenges while The Worm is obtained by completing the Gehenna’s Most Wanted crew challenges. At least both of these can be obtained in a single run of the campaign, though you will have to do some searching.
1 Psycho Krieg And The Fantastic Fustercluck
Both of these emotes require you to do a little farming. That’s always fun right? To get your hands on the Rage emote, you will need to farm Evil Brick, Evil Lilith, Locomobius, Dr. Benedict, or the Psychoreaver. The other emote, Mindblowing, can be obtained from Evil Lilith, Locomobius, or Dr. Benedict. With one being legendary, it will be harder to get it to appear, but playing on Mayhem Mode will help with that. There are plenty of choices, plus you have the chance of getting both in one go. It just makes things at least a little easier.
