In the early days of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, one of the most-requested feature was dating. Jam City eventually delivered by adding some Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery romance options, but now it’s taking things to the next level with the Romance Festival limited-time side quest.
As announced by Jam City, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players who have advanced to Year 6 in the game can soon participate in the Romance Festival. In this side quest, players are able to partake in a variety of activities, including a “surprise visit from a popular character.” Jam City has promised that those who see the Romance Festival side quest to its conclusion will experience a “cherished romantic moment,” though details on what exactly that entails are scarce.
It will be interesting to see if Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be able to bring back any lapsed players with the Romance Festival event. If so, returning players will discover quite a few changes to the visual novel game, like the addition of a Battle Pass-like feature and Clubs, which allow players to become the Head Boy or Girl of their respective Hogwarts Houses.
Hogwarts Mystery was the first game published by the Portkey Games label, but it has since been joined by some other Harry Potter titles. Portkey Games and Niantic teamed to launch Harry Potter: Wizards Unite in 2019, and just recently, a Zynga-developed Harry Potter puzzle game called Puzzles and Spells was released for mobile devices as well. In 2021, Hogwarts Legacy, a game aimed at core gamers, will launch, and it looks to be Portkey Games’ biggest title to date.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
