2020 has seen an abundance of digital gaming events taking the place of E3, Gamescom, PAX, and other physical conventions that are too risky to host amidst COVID-19. Today, Razer announced that it’s adding to that list with its own event, RazerCon.
Set to take place on October 10, the peripheral maker’s inaugural convention will be a “full-day digital event produced by Razer and its network of hardware and software partners.” According to the press release, RazerCon 2020 will serve to showcase Razer’s newest products, as one might expect, but viewers will also be treated to exclusive previews for a number of upcoming games like Empire of Sin and Torchlight 3.
Razer is promising to deliver more visual spectacle than the average livestreamed event. Starting things off will be a keynote presentation with Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan that will use a mix of live-compositied footage and “immersive mixed-reality technology” to set it against the skyline of Singapore. Additionally, Razer is calling RazerCon “the world’s first RGB lighting-reactive livestream.” What this means is that anyone with Razer Chroma-enabled devices will be able to sync their devices to the livestream and have their lights move to the music during the post-event concert.
RazerCon 2020 will stream across Razer’s social media channels, including Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. As a bonus, attendees who tune in wil be able to take part in contests and giveaways for a chance to win prizes like a Razer Blade 15 laptop, in-game items for a number of titles, and beta keys from participating developers.
RazerCon 2020 will take place on October 10, starting at 9:00 AM PST.
