The Demon’s Souls remake has been a highly anticipated next-generation title since it was first announced earlier this year. To ramp up that excitement and provide extra content to fans of the series, PlayStation has shown off a Digital Deluxe version of Demon’s Souls that eager fans can look forward to, if they don’t feel like opting for the standard edition.
The Digital Deluxe edition of Demon’s Souls remake comes packed full of bonuses that will enhance the gameplay experience for new and old players. Along with the base game, fans can look forward to getting in-game items such as a ritual blade and a hoplite shield, three different souls, and other enhancement items. Additionally, players will also receive Red-Eye Knight Armor and Boletarian Royalty Armor. Both sets of armor combined with the previously mentioned items will give players a decent advantage when jumping into the game.
Fans who pre-order any edition of Demon’s Soul will also receive an exclusive weapon, the Reaper Scythe. The exclusive weapon is said to be able to take down many targets with a single blow but is more difficult to handle than other weapons. The scythe will require both strength and dexterity to use effectively.
The Demon’s Souls Digital Deluxe edition will come with a hefty price tag of $89.99, which is $20 more than the price of the base game. Fans have expressed issues with next-generation games like Demon’s Souls increasing to $69.99, however, the increased price in games hasn’t effected all upcoming titles for next-generation consoles just yet. Now that popular franchises like Call of Duty and NBA 2K have increased the prices of its games, it would seem that all games will follow this trend sooner rather than later.
Demon’s Souls had an impressive showing at PlayStation’s recent showcase for upcoming PlayStation 5 games. The Demon’s Souls remake from Bluepoint Games appears to be the next product from the studio as it attempts to faithfully recreate the game. However, some fans have been upset at the decision to change the “YOU DIED” font in the Demon’s Souls remake. According to fans, the new font feels out of place and too modern compared to the setting of the game.
To the surprise of many, the Demon’s Souls remake was candidly announced as a launched title for the PlayStation 5. Strangely, the release date was not announced until after the recent PlayStation 5 Showcase, but it excited fans all the same.
Demon’s Souls will release on November 12 for the PS5.
