Dr Disrespect Hints at Reason for Twitch Ban | Game Rant

The mystery about why Dr Disrespect received a Twitch ban continues on, although a new development may shed some more light on the reasoning. Just about everyone connected to the game streaming world has speculated on why Dr Disrepect was banned, when the streamer himself has said he isn’t sure of the reason.

There have been a ton of theories thrown around about what could have been so egregious that it would get one of Twitch‘s biggest streamers permanently booted from the service. Doc himself alleges that he was given no reason at the time he was banned, and although he’s gone on record saying he doesn’t know the truth, new information hints that the streamer may in fact know more than he lets on.

Doc is still streaming on YouTube with huge success, as it seems like most of his enormous fanbase are either intrigued by the mystery or enjoy the streamer’s antics too much to care if he really did do something controversial. On September 28, Dr Disrespect streamed some good old-fashioned Call of Duty: Warzone and told his viewers he wanted to spill the beans on a topic he’s been wanting to be honest about for a while. Naturally, this piqued a lot of people’s interest given the implication that Doc could finally be leaking the reason behind his mysterious ban.

The high-profile streamer implied that he’s being asked to keep silent by a “process” that he’s being made to go through, and continued to elaborate after receiving a donation from a viewer calling themselves a long-time “active duty Master Chief,” implying they’re a gamer from the US military. Doc started talking about a metaphor between he and an experienced soldier by asking viewers to imagine the Navy getting rid of a star soldier who would become Master Chief, replacing him with three new soldiers because the Master Chief figure was going to have a money-draining salary. The new soldiers or “cadets” he mentions are likely a reference to Twitch’s new big streamers with an exclusivity contract: Shroud, Ninja, and potentially Logic.

The clear implication here is that Doc is comparing this Master Chief figure to himself, which brings up questions about the Two-Time’s pay and whether there were internal negotiations that either he or Twitch were unhappy with. If these allegations are true they’d certainly be controversial, given recent criticism of Twitch as being greedy for briefly introducing mid-roll ads.

However, there is no other evidence to back up Doc’s claim, and for now, all fans have are conjectures and theories. Still, this is an intriguing detail and it’s arguably more substance than fans have gotten previously re: the ban, and is likely more substance that people will get for a while, even taking Dr Disrespect’s upcoming book into consideration.
