Mortal Kombat 11 Releases Halloween DLC | Game Rant

Ever since NetherRealm Studios released Mortal Kombat 11‘s story-based DLC, Aftermath in May, fans have been wondering what the game’s future content has in store. However, while players wait for developers to confirm another similar expansion for Mortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm and publisher Warner Bros. are still releasing new seasonal skins packs for the game.

Today, NetherRealm unveiled Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath’s All Hallows’ Eve Skin Pack with a new trailer on Twitter. Following up on the Halloween teaser included in the announcement for the Klassic Femme Fatale Skin Pack last month, the latest pack includes three horrifying new skins for players to try out. This release is nine days earlier than anticipated, as previous reports claimed that the game’s Halloween pack was due on October 8.

According to the trailer from the official Mortal Kombat 11 Twitter account, Johnny Cage will receive a “Beast Within” skin, giving him a hairy and muscular look, finished off with a red-and-white letterman jacket. Players can also customize the monstrous insectoid D’Vorah with a horror movie-like nurse costume using the “Bad Medicine” skin. Finally, in a bow to his chilling powers, Mortal Kombat 11‘s latest DLC is giving the classic character Sub-Zero the “Blizzard King” skin, which gives the character a new set of armor and a crown of ice. Each character received some gameplay footage showing off their new cosmetics.

Fans met the three new skins with a mixed reception. For the most part, Mortal Kombat 11 players left positive comments on the three skins, with Sub-Zero’s new helmet emerging as a fan favorite. But while some complimented how the three new skins, others expressed disappointment that other overlooked characters did not receive new looks. For example, one user pointed out that Johnny Cage already had four skins to choose from and called for NetherRealm to update other characters. More demanding fans also asked about when they could expect NetherRealm to release new DLC characters for Mortal Kombat 11 instead. However, it is important to know that original additions to the game would likely require more time.

Despite some criticism, the All Hallows’ Eve Skin Pack also seems like an addition to Mortal Kombat 11 that should appeal to fans of the classic and modern games can enjoy. Although some fans might be disappointed that NetherRealm is not introducing new characters for Halloween, players can already choose from a large cast of characters from various franchises if they are dissatisfied with this year’s skins and content.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
