Many future Spotlight Hour events for Pokemon GO have been recently announced. With time always moving forward, the last of the September Spotlight Hours has come with the Skitty Spotlight Hour taking place today on September 29th, 2020.
This event will be available for all Pokemon GO players at 6:00 pm in players’ local times. Players will need to act fast during the event, however, as it will end at 7:00 pm in players’ local times as well.
With this Spotlight Hour event being focused on Skitty, it’s important for players to know what to expect with the Pokemon. Skitty is a pure normal-type Pokemon that evolves into Delcatty when fed 50 Skitty Candies. Neither are too impressive in battle, but both are popular for their cute appearances.
One of the biggest appeals to the Skitty Spotlight Hour is the higher chance for players to find and catch Skitty’s shiny form. Compared to a normal Skitty, a shiny Skitty has orange fur instead of pink fur as well as a brighter shade of yellow fur on its face. A shiny Skitty will also evolve into a shiny Delcatty, which will have orange fur where it normally has purple fur.
The shiny Skitty spawns aren’t the only benefit to the Spotlight Hour event. Players will additionally get double the amount of stardust from catching Pokemon during the spotlight hour. Using a star piece during this time will cause this doubling to stack, allowing players to get massive amounts of stardust for powering up Pokemon.
With the event only lasting an hour, players are recommended to stack up on Pokeballs, lures, and incense in order to maximize the possible gains from this event. It is unknown when the spawn rates of Skitty and its shiny form will increase like this again, so players should definitely take advantage while they still can.
There are no special timed limited research or field research tasks relating to these events, so players don’t need to worry or waste time thinking about extra things to do during this very limited event. After the event is over, the next Spotlight Hour event will be on Tuesday, October 6th, 2020. It will be focused on World Cap Pikachu and will provide players with twice the amount of XP for catching Pokemon during the event.
Once again, the Skitty Spotlight Hour will be only happening today and will be running from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in players’ local times. Players that want to participate will need to keep their eyes on their clocks.
Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
