Many fans of Pokemon Sword and Shield have been waiting to hear more about the upcoming Expansion Pass release. With the recent video presentation from The Pokemon Company giving fans more details about the Crown Tundra DLC, players anticipating this expansion can get a better picture of the new features that it will be bringing to the game.
The new presentation revealed many new features that the Crown Tundra DLC will be introducing to Pokemon Sword and Shield, showing off special new Dynamax Battles against Legendary Pokemon from previous generations and other interesting additions to the game. Alongside these new avenues of exploration, trainers will also be able to compete in special tournament settings with some big-name trainers in the Galar region.
The Pokemon Company revealed that, after trainers explore the Crown Tundra DLC, they will be able to participate in a special tournament in the main area of the game. During this tournament, the player will pick one other trainer that they met during their travelers throughout the game to team up and take down the competition. These partner trainers can be any that the player encountered in their respective title games, as well as the expansion passes. Depending on who trainers team up with and who they battle against in the tournament, players may see “new sides” to the characters that they’ve gotten to know on their journey through interactions with eachother.
Now that the Crown Tundra DLC release date has been revealed, Pokemon fans know exactly when they can battle alongside gym leaders or champions that they previously defeated on their journey to be the strongest Pokemon trainer in the Galar region. While there aren’t many details about the Galarian Star Tournament besides what the presentation reveals, fans have less than a month to wait before they can jump into the tournament for themselves and rematch powerful trainers on a new level.
The Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion will be introducing many new features just like the special tournament when it is released next month. Trainers will soon be able to team up with their friends to explore Dynamax Caves and work together to potentially battle and capture Legendary Pokemon from previous generations. The announcement also let fans know that they can obtain Ash’s Pikachu for the Nintendo Switch game titles as well. This announcement goes to show that there are new and exciting features coming soon for Pokemon fans.
