Black Ops Cold War Zombies Brings Back Pack-A-Punch, Mystery Box, Ray Gun, and More

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is bringing back an integral pieces of the Black Ops franchise. Zombies has been confirmed for Black Ops Cold War with a trailer that shows off a number of returning fan-favorite features.

The Zombies mode will have a unique progression system, classic perks, and a variety of Cold War weapons to battle waves of zombies. While some of the weapons may be new, obtaining them and the upgrade process may be familiar to veteran players. Like previous Zombies modes, players will be able to buy weapons off the wall or purchase random weapons from the mystery box.

Along with access to wall weapons and the mystery box, weapons now have different rarities that affect damage output and attachments. Black Ops Cold War will also feature loadouts usable across all modes, meaning player can bring their custom weapons into Zombies. Progression carries across modes too, so players can unlock upgrades for loadouts while playing Zombies. Any weapon pulled from the wall or mystery box will have a rarity, and players will also be able to upgrade their gun with the return of the Pack-a-Punch machine in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The Pack-a-Punch machine has appeared in many of the previous Call of Duty Zombies modes and is used to transform guns, unlocking unique upgrades. Players will be able to unlock transformations for new Cold War era guns as well as a fan-favorite gun seen in the trailer. The ray gun is historically one of the most powerful weapons in Zombies, and it will be returning in Black Ops Cold War.

Player have to uncover the mode’s mysterious story to progress through its maps and find the mystery box, Pack-a-Punch, and perk machines. Fan-favorite perks such as Juggernog and Speed Cola are returning, with a slight tweak that works in players’ favor. There is no longer a limit to the number of perks players can have, as long as they have enough points to purchase them.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches on November 13, and Zombies mode will be available alongside the game’s release. Although Zombies will not be available for the beta, players can still get the hang of game mechanics in the multiplayer beta available from October 10 to 12 for PS4 players, and October 17 to 19 for other platforms.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
