While fans know that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered is happening, they’ve yet to see what the game actually looks like. Since it’s a remaster on a brand new console, Spider-Man: Remastered‘s graphics are its most significant selling point, but Insomniac Games hasn’t released any images or footage of the game yet. That will change soon.
Insomniac recently confirmed that it would be giving Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered a PS5 showcase before it launches with the Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition on November 12. Insomniac tends to answer questions people have for it over on its Twitter account, so when one user asked if fans would be able to catch a glimpse of Spider-Man: Remastered before it releases, Insomniac answered with a simple “yes.”
Now, Insomniac’s confirmation obviously doesn’t give much in the way of details, so when and where this showcase will happen remains to be seen. However, Sony plans to host more PlayStation 5 events before the console releases, so a safe bet would be sometime mid-October. Insomniac could also release some screenshots of the title before a full showcase happens. There’s only less than a month left before the PlayStation 5 and Spider-Man: Miles Morales release, so Sony or Insomniac should reveal more details about the showcase soon.
As far as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered‘s graphics are concerned, fans should expect it to look exactly like Spider-Man: Miles Morales. When Insomniac first made the announcement that the remaster was in development, it claimed that it would take advantage of all of the same updates and advantages granted by the PlayStation 5 that Spider-Man: Miles Morales would.
The game will have ray-tracing, improved shadows and lighting, better character model details, and an overall more fleshed out world. It will also have near-instant loading, 3D audio, and the same optional performance mode that Spider-Man: Miles Morales has, meaning players will get to play it at 60fps. On top of all of that, it will have three new suits for players to choose from.
Confirmation of a Spider-Man PS5 showcase is one of the few pieces of good news to come out of a string of generally disappointing reveals about the title. For one, players will only be able to access the game by purchasing the Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition. There are no plans for it to stand on its own. Moreover, none of the saved data from the original Spider-Man PS4 will be transferable to the remaster, so players will have to accomplish everything over again, including earning trophies.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered launches November 12, for PS4 and PS5.
