歐元區8月製造業活動連續兩月處擴張狀態

金融數據供應商Markit公布，歐元區8月製造業採購經理指數終值跌至51.7，與初值相同，連續兩個月在50以上，反映處於擴張狀態。期內產出分項指數升至55.6，略低於初值，但就是2018年4月以來最高。

8月就業分項指數升至44.2，低於50，反映仍有工廠裁員。

Markit經濟學家預計，歐元區產出將在第3季急速反彈。不過，在持續憂慮未來需求力度，以及疫情發展存在不確定情況，企業在招聘及投資方面將尤其謹慎。…

慈善組織警告年底撒哈拉以南逾6萬7千兒童有餓死風險

國際非牟利慈善組織「救助兒童會」警告，到今年底撒哈拉沙漠以南的非洲地區，超過6萬7千名兒童面對餓死的風險。

組織指出，非洲各地因應新型肺炎疫情實施的封鎖措施，增加社區及家庭獲取營養食品的難度，亦令食物變得昂貴。組織說目前非洲東部及南部地區，因營養不良而需要在診所接受治療的兒童，數目正在增加，組織正提供協助。

較早前，聯合國世界糧食計劃署亦警告，疫情增加全球饑餓問題的嚴重性。在出現疫情之前，非洲東部已因洪水、蝗蟲及地區糾紛引致的流離失所，面對糧食短缺問題。…
