Adam Sandler Finally Makes A Halloween Themed Movie | Game Rant

Adam Sandler is certainly one of the most prolific actors in Hollywood, for both better and worse. He has made dozens of films about all sorts of subject matter, mostly lighthearted comedies about whatever Sandler and his friends feel like covering on that given project. Surprisingly however, Sandler has never made a live-action Halloween film before. It would seem he hopes to fix that deficit with Hubie Halloween, which is dropping on Netflix very soon.

The most recent trailer is pretty much exactly what one might expect from an Adam Sandler film about Halloween. Sandler puts on a weird voice affectation in order to play Hubie, a lovable loser type character determined to protect his community from a mysterious spooky threat that haunts the town. Along the way Hubie will have to figure out what’s really going on, and how to stop it, all the while getting into mishaps and taking the mockery of others in stride.

It looks… well it looks pretty much like what it is: a Halloween film made by Adam Sandler, with everything people love and hate about him. For those who can’t stand Adam Sandler’s movies, this seems like it’s not going to change their minds. The jokes are about as crass and dumb as movies like Pixels and Grown Ups, and everything about the film seems to line up with Sandler’s typical output. After so many years of making movies like this, people probably know whether or not they’ll want to see this one, though if the past success of Sandler’s other Netflix movies is any indication, a lot of people absolutely do.

Of course the film also has some of Sandler’s typical entourage in tow. Kevin James makes an appearance, as does Tim Meadows as well as Steve Buscemi, who appears to be playing some sort of werewolf character. If nothing else, the film will probably make for some entertaining Halloween themed noise to put on in the background, and who knows? It might even be great. Until it comes out in the next week, audiences will just to wait and see.

Hubie Halloween hits Netflix on October 7th.
