Teppen, described as “the ultimate card game,” released just over a year ago in 2019. The free-to-play digital collectible card game features dynamic action and explosive visuals in an impressive art style. Teppen also features a large cast of video game icons and “Heroes” to command, and it just received another.
Developed by GungHo Online Entertainment and Capcom, Teppen has many favorite Capcom characters, from games like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter. Now a couple more games are being added to Teppen: Okami and Sengoku Basara.
A beloved game from over a decade ago, Okami is considered one of the best Zelda-like games out there. The game features a gorgeous art-style that seems like a solid fit within Teppen. One of the highlights of the expansion is the Red Hero Amaterasu card, a powerful card based on the white wolf in Okami.
Sengoku Basara is a title that has expanded much beyond the video game medium, as an anime, live-action series, and magazine have all been created and based on the Capcom series. A set of trading cards have also been released based on Sengoku Basara, so adding content from the game to Teppen is natural.
The new update sees cards from the two games such as Sun Goddess Amaterasu, Wood Sprite Sakuya, Divine Spear Yukimura, and Oshu Lord Date Masamune. Before long, players will be working on decks based on characters from these games, just as fans have created the best decks for the like of Ryo in Teppen. The far-reaching roster of Teppen is impressive, and it is encouraging to see GungHo continuing to support the game.
