Crash Bandicoot 4: How Long Does It Take to Beat? | Game Rant

After years of waiting, Crash Bandicoot fans are finally able to get their hands on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. The new game comes from Toys for Bob and will be the first canon sequel in the franchise since Naughty Dog’s Crash 3: Warped. But how does it compare in length to the original Crash Bandicoot games?

The developers recently outlined how they wanted to create the biggest Crash Bandicoot game ever. Toys for Bob seem to have achieved this by implementing a few new challenges and game modes that invite replayability, such as the N.Verted filters and flashback tapes. The average length of levels in Crash 4 is also said to be longer, which will add to the gameplay time and help to make Crash 4 one of the longer games in the series.

Early rumors had Crash 4 coming in at over 100 levels, but now that the game has been released to the public it’s been confirmed that the new Crash consists of 43 levels in total. This has the completion time of Crash 4’s story coming in at around 6-8 hours. However, this will likely take longer depending on how challenging players find the game or how dedicated they are to completing the levels at 100%.

Crash 4 offers multiple gems to find in each level which are achieved through exploring hidden pathways, smashing crates, and collecting Wumpa fruit, so players may choose to take their time to seek out all the collectibles in each level before moving on. Crash 4’s larger level count and increased length also make it longer than any of the original Crash Bandicoot games.

Crash 4 is packed with extra content, which doubles the initial story playtime. The game allows players to unlock a number of different paths and modes after completing the first play-through of a level. For starters, there are 21 hidden flashback tapes among Crash 4 levels that each unlock extra difficult challenge levels. Each level also brings its own time trial feature, in which players can speed-run levels to try and claim tiered relics.

Eventually, players will also unlock the N.Verted level styles which offer a new playthrough experience and alternate takes on levels that feature other playable characters such as Tawna, Neo Cortex, and Dingodile. So for players who wish to complete all these additional modes and challenges along with the main story, the gameplay time increases to around 2o plus hours. Ultimately, how long it will take to beat Crash 4 will all depend on an individual’s skill level and completion quota, making the game a variable experience for all players.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is available now on PS4 and Xbox One.
