The hype train for the newest character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is still going after the recent announcement for Minecraft‘s Steve and Alex. To finish off the recent Mr. Sakurai Presents video regarding the new additions, the new upcoming Mii costumes have also been revealed.
To celebrate Minecraft‘s representation in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, many of the new Mii costumes are in reference to Minecraft itself. These new costumes additionally add more options for players that prefer to play as either the Mii Swordfighter or the Mii Brawler.
There are two costumes available for the Mii Brawler from Minecraft and one for the Mii Swordfighter. Mii Brawlers will have access to a Creeper costume as well as a Minecraft Pig costume. Meanwhile, Mii Swordfighters will have access to a Minecraft Diamond Armor costume.
These upcoming Mii costumes will be available alongside the three other Mii costumes being released in Round Seven of the Extra Mii Fighter Costumes. They will be available starting on October 13th, 2020 for $0.75 USD each.
In addition to the Minecraft costumes, players will also be able to get costumes representing Gil from The Tower of Druaga, Bomberman from Bomberman, and Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes. Bomberman’s colors additionally change with the color of the Mii the costume is put on. They will be available on the same date and will have the same price as listed earlier.
It is unlikely that there will be more Minecraft themed Mii costumes after this, but the ones that have been recently revealed show a real care for the source material. The usage of both a Creeper and a pig being a Mii Brawler is likely a reference to how the two creatures are related in Minecraft‘s development history.
Mii costumes are usually one of the highlights when revealing new characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and this recent reveal has been anything but a disappointment. Between the Minecraft costumes that essentially serve as skins for the Mii Brawlers to the inclusion of Bomberman and Travis Touchdown, these new costumes are sure to sell fast upon release.
Players that own either Volume 1 or Volume 2 of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass should note that these new Mii costumes are not included on the pass and need to be purchased separately. These costumes additionally will not change the movesets of the Mii Fighters and are only there for cosmetic changes.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now on Switch.
