Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta Maps Leak | Game Rant

Fans of Call of Duty multiplayer have been waiting for the chance to try Black Ops Cold War once again, and they are only a few days away from getting their chance. A recent leak has confirmed what maps may be coming within the beta version of the game, as a few new names have been discovered within the Black Ops Cold War code.

The leak comes from a reputable source with a strong track record, as Call of Duty leaker BKTOOR posted the names of multiple CoD files onto their Twitter. With the same thread including an official, unreleased cutscene from Black Ops Cold War, the files are surely legitimate and give a good idea of what could be coming in the beta. It is worth stating that none of this is guaranteed, however, as BKTOOR’s build contains 10 campaign cutscenes that will not be featured in the beta.

The cutscenes for both Die Maschine and the recently teased Dead Ops Arcade 3 are also seen in the files, but with the Black Ops Cold War beta only including multiplayer, fans should not be expecting to slay any Zombies until the game’s full launch. The more interesting part of the leak is without question the addition of new multiplayer map names like “black sea” and “tundra,” with both names likely being unfamiliar to alpha players.

It should be worth noting, however, that these could just be developer names for two of Black Ops Cold War’s Combined Arms maps. The large 12v12 saw a map named Crossroads which took place in a tundra-like setting, while Black Sea could easily be another name used by Treyarch to describe the Black Ops Cold War map Armada. Another possibility is that these new names indicate smaller, 6v6 versions of the ship-focused map and its snowy counterpart, much like how Modern Warfare’s Ground War uses smaller pieces of Warzone’s Verdansk map.

One map not seen in the record-breaking Black Ops Cold War alpha but listed in the code is named Cartel. With the two 12v12 maps possibly being given different names and the 6v6 maps Miami, Moscow, and Satellite all accounted for, this map must be brand new. With multiple multiplayer maps confirmed for launch still not present within Black Ops Cold War’s code, it is safe to assume that Cartel was added specifically to be featured within the beta. Whether the map is designed for the massive fireteam dirty bomb mode or is another 6v6 option remains to be seen.

With at least one new map likely coming within the beta, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans have a slightly better idea of what to expect this weekend. With the best guns from the Black Ops Cold War alpha coming to the beta, fans can prepare for the test period by selecting their weapon of choice ahead of time.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be available November 13th on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
