After an explosion in popularity in August, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is continuing to ride its overwhelming success into the game’s second season. In a video released today, players have been given a glimpse at a new course coming to Fall Guys in Season 2 that will test every player’s skill to the fullest and could be one of the more challenging races in the game.
Season 2 of Fall Guys is launching on October 8 and will bring a ton of new costume options and other courses to the bubbly battle royale. Today, IGN released a new video and gave players their first look into a new course coming to Fall Guys called Knight Fever, which is a round one race that features some pretty harrowing obstacles. A full lobby of 60 players will attempt to bob and weave through the crowded and obstacle-laden course that is sure to be a challenge for players old and new.
Knight Fever is split into sections like some other mad dash courses in Fall Guys. Players will need to travel uphill while dodging swinging axes on narrow platforms and anyone who can get beyond that will be rewarded with a chance to walk across a log that is covered in spikes rotating around it. From there, it’s a downhill slide through a field of axes looking to throw players side to side before they must cross a dangerous bridge that features holes in the floor and swinging logs attempting to ruin a run. Lastly, players will need to cross drawbridges that open and close at different intervals.
Mediatonic, the studio responsible for Fall Guys, has been looking at different ways to challenge players since the game released in August. While the developer has been adding different courses to keep the game fresh, it has also added new obstacles to existing courses. During a mid-season update, Mediatonic added in Big Yeetus to Fall Guys, which was a new challenge players would have to deal with throughout courses that they had already mastered. Although Big Yeetus was added to introduce a new challenge, some players took advantage of the giant hammer to cover extra distance.
While Mediatonic is adding in new ways to challenge players, the studio is also throwing a bone to players feeling the grind of Fall Guys’ battle pass. Last week, Lead Designer Joe Walsh replied to a comment thread on Reddit that mentioned how frustrating it was to grind out the Season 1 battle pass in Fall Guys. Walsh mentioned that the team had heard the community about this issue and that the battle pass for Fall Guys Season 2 would be easier to fully complete.
Fall Guys Season 2 is scheduled to launch on October 8 on PC and PlayStation 4.
