Ubisoft Montreal’s Hyper Scape is receiving a new title update, patch V2.0, for its second season. This update is coming with the second season in October 6, and it will be bringing a new weapon, new game modes, and more to the futuristic, free-to-play battle royale.
Starting tomorrow, Hyper Scape Season 2 will be arriving along with several new additions and changes that will optimize gameplay performance. Some of the features were mentioned in Ubisoft’s overhaul plans for Hyper Scape, not too long ago, and some of them will be added tomorrow. This includes the new Atrax weapon for players to get their hands on, a new “limited time” Platform Hack, the Magnet Hack, an Infinite Slide event, and more. Some will be released at a later time while others are immediately added once season 2 is here.
Similar to Hyper Scape’s 1st patch notes, many new additions were outlined as part of the game’s Season 2 update. The Atrax is an auto-rifle which shoots sticky explosives that detonate on contact with enemies while sticking to environment surfaces to detonate later. The resulting explosions damage any enemies caught in the blast radius while causing a slowdown effect for an extra bonus. The update will be bringing back the Magnet Hack, an old ability from the first season returning to the game after the sound issues were fixed, and will be running the same as it did before.
Then there’s the Platform Hack, an ability for players to deploy traversable platforms, but it will be available later in season 2 for Hyper Scape’s Limited Time modes. There will also be a number of new features that will be accessible to players once the update arrives. This includes the Daily Gifts, which players can collect from the Marketplace Portal at 1PM ET/5 PM UTC each day, with gifts ranging from Battle Points to cosmetics. The new Infinite Slide Event lets players slide to their hearts’ content for an infinite duration of time.
Many more changes include the new Player Ranking System for players to compare their seasonal progress, new features to the Challenge System menu, Contender holograms for game hosts, Auto-Sprint Setting, and an Instant Melee Controller layout for controller players. The update will also add improvements to the Game Modes Playlist, a handful of various weapons, as well as fix many bugs for weapons, hacks, and audio. These improvements are the tip of the iceberg for when Hyper Scape’s second season arrives.
Hyper Scape is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The second season begins October 6, 2020.
