Larian Studios has revealed that the Early Access release of Baldur’s Gate 3 is considered Act 1 of the story campaign that should last around 20 hours.
The studio says it has designed this first Early Access adventure as a dense experience that should be played through multiple times with different races and character builds.
For the Early Access period the game features eight races with subraces, and six classes, all based on Dungeons and Dragons fifth edition. It also features five companions, and yes, you can romance them.
The final full release is expected to be around 100 hours long, although like Larian’s Divinity Original Sin and its sequel, players shouldn’t expect Baldur’s Gate 3 to be in Early Access for a long time.
As well as turn-based combat, Baldur’s Gate 3 can be played through entirely in turn-based mode if you want to. We got to sample hours of Baldur’s Gate 3 gameplay early this year, and we’ll bring you more impressions this week once we’ve had a chance to play with the more stable Early Access build.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access has just gone live today on Steam, GOG, Stadia and Mac. There has been no pre-load, so you might need to be patient.
