Like most other live service games, Rocket Arena aims to keep fans engaged through the release of seasonal content, and now the game is entering Season 2. Rocket Arena Season 2 officially launches on Wednesday, October 7, and it brings with it a slew of new content for fans to check out, including the new playable character Leef.
Leef hails from the Realm of the Ancients in Rocket Arena lore, and is a cat-like creature of some kind with a wooden mask. The developers describe Leef as an “elfin critter,” so it’s not entirely clear what species he is. In Rocket Arena, Leef will be joined by Flitt, a small insect companion.
While Leef may be the most exciting addition to Rocket Arena with Season 2, the new season will feature some other new content as well. Notably, fans will be able to try the new PvE Bot Knockout mode, where players can fight against AI-controlled enemies. Additionally, the developers have increased the number of characters who can be bots in the game, with Amphora, Blastbeard, Izell, and Jayto all joining the lineup.
Rocket Arena Season 2 will see some other changes as well. The max level cap in Rocket Arena is being increased to 125 per character, and players will have more daily and weekly challenges to complete to hit that level faster. Dodging has been upgraded so players can dodge in more directions, balance changes are on the way for Flux, Jayto, and Mysteen, and now coins will give a speed boost in Treasure Hunt.
There’s still no word on Rocket Arena going completely free-to-play, but it seems like a distinct possibility. Right now, Rocket Arena is free for Amazon Prime Gaming subscribers, but one has to imagine that a full free-to-play rollout is in the cards so that it can better compete with other live service titles.
Rocket Arena is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
