Best Buy Hosting Special Black Friday Event Next Week | Game Rant

Best Buy isn’t willing to wait for Black Friday to arrive on a regular schedule, it seems. Today the retailer announced plans for Black Friday in October, a special sales event more than a month ahead of the traditional Black Friday preceding the United States Thanksgiving holiday. Considering 2020 so far, many shoppers may not have even been thinking about Black Friday, let alone Thanksgiving or Christmas, but Best Buy’s October Black Friday will be there for those who are.

The official Best Buy Black Friday in October event will run for two just, starting October 13 and ending October 14. The advertisement for the Black Friday event has not been revealed as of yet, but Best Buy has confirmed three deals to look forward to. The big “doorbuster” will be a Samsung 70-inch Class 4K Smart TV for $529.99, which Best Buy says is discounted $220. There will also be laptops discounts as low as $119.99, as well as a JBL Free True Wireless headphone set for $69.99, down from $80.

For those worried that Best Buy might be trying to pull a fast one and sell inventory at higher prices before the “real” discounts of November’s Black Friday arrive, Best Buy has a promise. Best Buy is guaranteeing the prices for all of its deals sold during its October Black Friday event. Any prices that might drop by November’s Black Friday will lead to reimbursements for buyers who made their purchases earlier, automatically.

Shoppers are likely to be understandably wary of wanting to go Black Friday shopping, regardless of whether it’s in October or November. The COVID-19 pandemic is still a very real issue for shoppers to consider. Best Buy says that it’s going to offer “even more options” to get their purchases than usual as a result. Contactless curbside pickup, store pickup, as well as same-day and next-day delivery options are listed as examples. Best Buy also says is it using new store safety guidelines, though it doesn’t clarify them.

The question as to why Best Buy would be holding a Black Friday in October could be explained in two ways. One, that the pandemic is pushing retailers to try and get customers into stores in new ways. Two, that Amazon’s Prime Day 2020 will also be on October 13 and 14. The hype for Prime Day will likely carry over to Best Buy’s event and vice versa.

Whether shoppers are ready for holiday sales are not, they’re arriving early in 2020. Best Buy’s October Black Friday will start on October 13 and run through October 14. Expect an advertisement with all of Best Buy‘s upcoming deals soon.
