iPhone fans have been anxiously awaiting news regarding Apple’s iPhone 12 series of new phones. Earlier this week, Apple confirmed that its iPhone 12 reveal event would air on October 13. Yet Apple enthusiasts may not even have to wait for that. A new, massive leak shared through Chinese social media platform Weibo may have spoiled Apple’s plans. The leak claims to reveal the full line-up iPhone 12 products, their prices, and some basic specifications for each phone.
The four phones Apple will show on October 13, according to the leak, are the iPhone 12 Mini, the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. All four phones support 5G. None of the phones will include earphones or chargers. The new phones will also feature a new “Ceramic Shield” coating for added protection. Apple will also be showing off a HomePod Mini 3.3 inch speaker, as well as accessories including a Magsafe magnetic case, two Magsafe Chargers, and a Magsafe Duo Charger.
The iPhone 12 Mini is designed to be Apple’s most affordable phone in its iPhone 12 series. It’ll start at $699 and features a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR display. Included in the iPhone 12 Mini is a dual camera that supports both wide-angle and ultrawide. As for storage, the iPhone 12 will have 64/128/256GB options. Available in black, white, red, blue, and green, the iPhone 12 Mini pre-sale opens November 6/7 and will be released on November 13/14.
Next up is the iPhone 12, which is similar to the iPhone 12 Mini in most regards, but larger. It features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen and pricing starts at $799. Otherwise, it too has a dual camera, 64/128/256GB storage options, and is available in black, white, red, blue, and green. Pre-orders start October 16/17 and the iPhone 12 releases October 13/14.
The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are the 12 Series’ high-end phones. The Pro will feature a 6.1-inch screen while the Pro Max features an impressive 6.7-inch screen. Pricing starts at $999 and $1,099 respectively. The two phones will feature three cameras instead of two, including a telephoto lens and LIDAR support. Note that the Pro includes support for 4x optical zoom, while the Pro Max offers 5x. Storage is also doubled for the Pro phones, with 128/256/512 options. Pre-orders for the Pro start on October 16/17 for a release of October 23/24. The Pro Max preorders open November 13/14 with a release date of November 20/21.
Despite the leaks, iPhone enthusiasts will very much want to tune into Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 unveiling. The key new features in the iPhone 12 phones, like the new camera technology and screen sizes, will certainly be more attractive when seen firsthand. Nevertheless, at least iPhone enthusiasts have potential dates and price points in mind so they can start to consider whether to upgrade or not this holiday season.
