It is almost every day that a new glitch or bug is discovered in Call of Duty: Warzone. Bugs have become such a prominent part of the game that fans are no longer surprised when they occur. Still, Call of Duty: Warzone bugs are usually the result of an unexpected sequence of events that the game’s engine can not handle.
With thousands of players traveling across the game’s map and interacting with the environment, unexpected sequences can happen more often than not. From simple issues in Warzone’s mesh to entire models rendering incorrectly, the game’s community can simply report and wait for a patch. Still, there is the occasional bug that scares players completely and can almost cost them a match.
In a video posted to Reddit, user iDailyTheMach1 had an unfortunate encounter with a player who was probably as surprised as they were. After landing on a building, the player headed inside to try and secure the floor of enemy threats. Heading down the stairs, they crouched near a doorway, waiting for an enemy to ascend up the nearby elevator shaft.
Almost on queue, a player disembarks and is swiftly downed, but instead of laying there helpless, they managed to pull out a gun and continue firing at their aggressor. Out of panic, the active player eliminates them swiftly, as the enemy only fired off two rounds from their Warzone shotgun into the air. This is a rather new bug, but players are starting to see it occur more frequently. The common factor in almost every appearance being the elevator disembark sequence.
This can be a bigger problem considering the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 added new zip lines at the base of several buildings. With this glitch affecting those who use quick ascension methods, there is a higher chance of it manifesting with the new ziplines in place.
One thing that iDailyTheMach1 confirms in the comments is the surprise when a downed Call of Duty: Warzone player starts unloading shells. While they were thankfully unharmed, it is still a disconcerting notion that a player that should be harmless could have downed them in a matter of seconds.
Still, this is not the most unusual bug to appear in Warzone. As the game experiences randomized zones, the chances of this bug affecting a major outcome are slim. While it is good for fans to be aware that this issue does exist, it does not necessarily warrant rapid developer response.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
