Warzone Private Matches Discovered Accidentally Through Bug

A Call of Duty: Warzone leak recently made claims about private lobbies coming to the popular battle royale. This has been a long-requested feature by the Warzone community, as it would offer fans an opportunity to host private tournaments and events. It is not an uncommon feature in other titles, as many multiplayer games host private matches in some fashion.

While the claim was originally dismissed, recent yweets and clips show that private lobbies may actually be on their way. If so, then players will be able to enjoy an entire Warzone match with a select community making it a great asset to content creators and Streamers.

Footage of the private lobby feature has been circulating after some players found a way to glitch into the lobby. The footage was compiled by Modern Warzone after two players sent in footage claiming to be the ones that discovered the glitch. In the video, they clearly show the varying settings and options within a private lobby and also showcase the ability to add people manually into their private sessions. The players who uncovered this glitch were able to play a mini-royale experience in a small 24 player lobby. This is the second time that news about private lobbies has circulated, with the feature still unconfirmed by the developers at Infinity Ward or Raven Software.

Future content is often accidentally discovered through glitches. While sometimes the content is never intended to be added, like the 3rd person Warzone game mode, other times it is on the horizon and only a patch away. It is hard to tell when Warzone will be receiving private lobbies, but many fans are at least relieved that they seem to be on their way.

With discussions revolving around SBMM, private matches are slowly becoming a necessity in the digital world. Players may never encounter their friends or be able to casually experience Warzone while SBMM is pairing them with competitive players. Private matches would also go a long way for fans who enjoy hunting for Easter eggs, as this makes it easier to look closer at the fine details on the map.

The video gives a clean image as to what a private lobby would look like. Players are able to augment settings, chance game modes, modify the circle size, and much more. Despite confirmation of this feature from Activision or Infinity Ward, it does seem rather complete which makes many fans believe that this could debut shortly after Black Ops Cold War inherits Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
