Call of Duty Poll Reveals Most Popular Black Ops Cold War Maps from the Beta

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s beta is now open to all PS4 players, giving millions of gamers the chance to try the game prior to its launch on November 13. Since the Black Ops Cold War alpha broke records, one has to imagine that a significant number of people have been playing the beta this weekend, forming opinions about the game modes, combat, and of course, the various maps that are on display.

The official Call of Duty Twitter account has created a poll to determine the most popular Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War maps from the beta. The four maps in the poll are Armada, Crossroads, Moscow, and Satellite, with Satellite and Moscow named as the two most popular Black Ops Cold War maps. Satellite earned 42% of the vote, whereas Moscow earned 35.5% of the vote from those polled.

Armada received just 12.5% of the vote, whereas Crossroads received 10% of the vote. It’s unclear why the Cartel and Miami maps were left off the poll, but it’s possibly due to how fans have reacted to them. There appears to be a generally negative opinion of both Cartel and Miami online, though there are those who enjoy those maps as well. In any case, it will be interesting to see if any of the maps are tweaked based on beta feedback.

It’s also unclear exactly why Satellite is the most popular map in the Black Ops Cold War beta, but it may have to do with a few different reasons. For one, the Satellite map is set in a large desert wasteland with significant line of sight. This makes the map ideal for those who like using snipers, and so far, Black Ops Cold War snipers have proven to be some of the most popular guns in the game. Players may also like Satellite’s aesthetics, as the map is particularly impressive from a graphics standpoint, and it also stands out when compared to past Call of Duty maps.

If fans aren’t impressed by any of the Black Ops Cold War beta maps, they can rest assured that the final game will have more maps on display, though it has yet to be revealed just how many will be available at launch. It also hasn’t been revealed whether or not Black Ops Cold War will launch with any classic maps from previous Black Ops games, though there is one distinct possibility.

Fans have already found a Nuketown easter egg in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta, indicating that the fan favorite map could very well be making its way to the new game. Alternatively, it’s possible Treyarch is saving Nuketown as one of the free DLC maps in the works for the game’s post-launch seasonal content.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
