Pro Call of Duty Player Reveals Powerful Black Ops Cold War XM4 Class

The first weekend of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer beta is wrapping up soon, but fans will be able to jump in again later this week. When they do jump back into the beta, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players may want to try out this XM4 class that was put together by professional Call of Duty player Seth “Scump” Abner, which very well may give them an edge over the competition.

One of the most popular guns in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer beta has proven to be the XM4 assault rifle, which seems to be the best AR in the game right now. It’s possible that the XM4 will be nerfed by Treyarch, or that other guns will be buffed to be more viable, but for now, the XM4 is the go-to weapon for many Black Ops Cold War beta players. In any case, those playing the beta have nothing to lose by giving Scump’s XM4 class a shot.

Before players are able to create Scump’s XM4 class, they will need to unlock the necessary attachments. This shouldn’t take too long, but Black Ops Cold War beta players should keep that in mind. Once the necessary XM4 attachments are unlocked, Black Ops Cold War players can jump into the game’s Gunsmith mode to create the class.

Here is the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War XM4 loadout that Scump recommends:

  • Optic – Quickdot LED
  • Muzzle – Muzzle Brake 5.56
  • Barrel – 13.7″ Extended
  • Underbarrel – Foregrip
  • Handle – Quickdraw

Before players can even worry about customizing the XM4 assault rifle in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, they will need to unlock the Gunsmith feature. But there is more incentive for players to level up in the Black Ops Cold War beta. Anyone that manages to reach level 10 in Black Ops Cold War‘s multiplayer beta will unlock the Mutual Animosity SMG weapon blueprint, which will be made available to players come the game’s launch on November 13.

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if Treyarch makes any major weapon balance changes between now and when the second beta goes live on October 15. If so, it’s possible that this XM4 loadout will be outclassed by some other loadout, maybe one made for the AK-74u. Call of Duty fans will just have to try next week’s Black Ops Cold War beta to find out.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
