Borderlands 3: How to Get the Sellout Legendary Pistol

While Borderlands 3‘s Sellout legendary pistol may not be the best weapon in the game, it is a great option for players that are making their way through the main story. Part of the gun’s appeal comes from the fact that fans need not farm for it, as it can be obtained simply by completing a short side quest. That said, players do need to exercise some care when working on this Borderlands 3 side quest or they may find that they have not received the Sellout.

To obtain the Sellout legendary pistol in Borderlands 3, players must first reach Ambermire on Eden-6 and interact with the bounty board that is found there. Doing so will give fans access to an optional mission called Sell Out, and now they must decide if they will kill themselves in a deathtrap or destroy the cameras around it. For those players that are interested in obtaining the Sellout, killing themselves in the deathtrap is the correct option, and they will find that they have received the weapon upon respawning.

To note, fans that prefer not to use the deathtrap can earn Borderlands 3‘s Sellout legendary pistol in another way, but it will cost them some Eridium. More specifically, the weapon can now be found in the Veteran Rewards Machine, which is located by Crazy Earl on Sanctuary 3. Indeed, this is a good option for those players that may have destroyed the cameras during the Sell Out mission without knowing that this would prevent them from receiving the Sellout pistol.

With no charge time and a very high chance to apply an elemental effect, the Sellout can prove to be very strong against enemies that are vulnerable to incendiary or corrosive. However, this Borderlands 3 legendary weapon does have a relatively dramatic recoil, which players should account for when using the gun. This means that the Sellout should be fired in quick bursts, and fans should avoid simply holding down their triggers.

Once a player has spent some time with the Sellout and reached the endgame, they may want to consider a pistol upgrade. Borderlands 3‘s King’s Call and Queen’s Call, both of which can be obtained by farming Tyreen the Destroyer, are reasonable options in the base game, and there are many more to be found in the DLCs. As examples, the Beacon, Light Show, and Prompt Critical are all extremely powerful Borderlands 3 DLC pistols, and fans that have outgrown the Sellout should give them a look.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are in development.
