Watch Dogs Legion Reveals PC Graphics Card Requirements for Ray-Tracing

The anticipated Watch Dogs: Legion has brought many surprises since its reveal concerning gameplay, and now technology for PC gamers. In September, Ubisoft revealed the PC requirements for Watch Dogs: Legion to gamers looking to buy the upcoming game. Now the developer has revealed more information on specific details for the game’s ability to use Ray-Tracing.

Watch Dogs: Legion will require a number of systems requirements to push its visuals to the limit on PC. Ubisoft provided the list of configurations gamers will need to have in order run the game on their computers and laptops. The latest informational post specifically focuses on the necessary graphics cards, and what those will do to allow gamers to see the neon-lit streets of Watch Dogs: Legion’s dystopian London in greater detail.

The PC specs released for the game detail what will enable Ray-Tracing and provides options for 1080p low, 1080p high, 1440p high, and 4K ultra settings. The system specifically supports the Nvidia line of GeForce RTX graphics cards. There are multiple types of graphics card that can enable Ray-Tracing if the player wants it on three levels that get progressively higher.

Players will need to get their hands on a RTX 2060 graphics card on the “High Preset” for the game to work at 1080p. For the very high settings of 1440p quality, a RTX 3070 graphics card is needed. For the 4K resolution, a RTX 3080 graphics card is required. However, if gamers want to disable the Ray-Tracing, there is a second category of requirements for doing so at their choosing.

To disable Ray-Tracing, players will need a Nvidia GeForce graphics card or a compatible AMD Radeon card to meet the minimum and maximum requirements. The 1080p low settings requires a GTX 970 or 1950 graphics card, and the 1080p high setting needs a GTX 1060 or 1660 super. The high 1440p setting will need either a Nvidia RTX 2050 Super or an AMD Radeon RX 480. Meanwhile, the 4K setting requires one of two Nvidia graphics cards. Most of these requirements will force PC gamers to upgrade and shell out some extra money to buy new cards, if they haven’t already done so already to play other major games.

Following these specs, players should be able to run Watch Dogs: Legion well on their PCs, according to Ubisoft’s recommended settings to bring out its peak visual quality.

Watch Dogs: Legion releases October 29 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with versions for Xbox Series X on November 10 and PS5 on November 12.
