Apex Legends Adds Lengthy Season 7 Challenge Teaser to Game

Respawn Entertainment has officially started promoting Apex Legends‘ seventh season, and one of the teases the developer put out involves new interactive challenges for players to tackle in the game. There are three challenges in total, all assigned to the player by the brand new Legend, Horizon, who’ll arrive along with Apex Legends Season 7. Horizon wants to gather data on the opponents that she’ll be facing in the games when she arrives, and the player volunteers their services to her.

The introduction of these challenges came alongside the Apex Legends Champion Edition Bundle‘s reveal trailer. Several players have already completed the challenges in the time since the Champion Edition trailer launched, and have uploaded the reward for completing the challenges to social media.

Those who want to tackle the challenges themselves can gain access to them over in the Firing Range. Here, on the right side of the arena, they’ll find a loot bin and lone TV monitor that they can interact with. Doing so will cause Horizon’s message to play; although, she’ll be off-camera, and her voice will be garbled. Once the video ends, the challenges will be available in the lobby under the title “A Wee Experiment.”

There’s not much to the challenges, so players should be able to complete them fairly easily. They only involve dealing 10 damage in mid-air, getting ten knockdowns (not kills), and outlasting 120 opponents. The challenges count toward battle pass progression and give out 5000 CP each, so they’re worth something even for players that don’t have much interest in the Apex Legends story.

Completing each challenge will gift players with devices capable of turning on the gravity lifts currently spread across both Apex Legends maps. Once the player activates all of these gravity lifts, Apex Legends will consider “A Wee Experiment” completed. Players can then access the locked bin next to the TV monitor in the Firing Range, which will give them a gun charm and a banner badge. They’ll then be able to interact with the TV monitor again to see Horizon officially reveal herself.

It’s still a mystery as to how the gravity lifts will come into play regarding Season 7, but players can use them to launch up to high places for now. Some fans managed to datamine Horizon before the Season 7 teasers started, and they found a connection between her and the gravity lifts. Now some speculate that the devices hint at what players can expect out of Horizon’s moveset. Apex Legends Season 7 arrives November 10, so there’s some time left to wait before anyone finds out — unless Respawn reveals it beforehand.

Apex Legends is on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 with PS5 and Xbox Series versions in development.
