Best PS4 and Xbox One Horror Games Day 13: Five Nights at Freddy’s VR Help Wanted

Virtual reality and horror go together well, with some of the highest-rated VR games from the horror genre. One of the scariest VR horror games on the market is Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted, which plays like a “best of” compilation of all the previous games in Scott Cawthon’s mega-popular horror series.

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted perfectly translates the Five Nights at Freddy’s experience to VR headsets. Players are able to interact with their environment to a greater degree than ever before thanks to the increased immersion that virtual reality provides, all the while trying to survive against deadly animatronic creatures. The game makes great use of sound and jump scares to sufficiently terrorize the player, making it one of the scariest Five Nights at Freddy’s experiences by a considerable margin.

The mini-games in Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted are all based on previous games in the series. This gives players the chance to relive each game’s unique features and locations, but in the virtual reality space. Those who manage to beat each mini-game and are brave enough to jump back in will find that Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted has surprising replay value, with collectibles to find, new difficulty modes to unlock, and more.

It really can’t be overstated just how much of a difference VR makes with Help Wanted, as it makes the experience significantly scarier than it would be otherwise. However, it’s possible to play the game without VR on Nintendo Switch if fans so desire. It will also be possible to play Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted on Xbox One and Xbox Series X in the near-future, with that particular port planned for later this year.

In the meantime, fans are free to check out the proper releases of the other Five Nights at Freddy’s games, which have also made their way to consoles over time. But it should be noted that Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted will arguably give players the same general experience that they would expect from those older releases, just with superior visuals and the huge boost afforded by the VR technology.

Looking ahead, Five Nights at Freddy’s is primed to continue its dominance in the horror gaming market. A Five Nights at Freddy’s feature film is in active development, plus the Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach game is also in the works.

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Oculus Quest, with Xbox One and Series X versions also in development.
