Pokemon Sword and Shield: Water Stone Location | Game Rant

Water Stones are they key to performing several evolutions in Pokemon Sword and Shield, and indeed players that wish to evolve their Eevees, Shellders, and Lombres will need to obtain some quantity of this Evolution Stone. That said, Water Stones are not extremely common in Pokemon Sword and Shield, and some fans may simply not be able to locate one despite their best efforts. For those players, details on exactly where Water Stones can be found in Gen 8 may prove useful.

There are several ways to go about getting a Water Stone in Pokemon Sword and Shield, and the first opportunity arises in the Bridge Field Wild Area. More specifically, players should cross the bridge that is located to the east of Motostoke and keep going straight through the archways. Eventually, this path will lead fans to an alcove that is created by a brick wall coming into contact with stone, and in this alcove is a Raid den and a Pokeball containing the Water Stone.

If a player finds that they still need more Water Stones after collecting the one in Bridge Field, they should continue through the game until they receive the Water Rotom Bike. This upgrade comes in Route 9, and it allows fans to cross bodies of water that were previously impassable. Indeed, players are able to visit brand new places with the assistance of the Water Rotom Bike, and there are Water Stones to be found in a couple of these areas.

One such area is the Lake of Outrage, which is in the Wild Area just before Hammerlocke. After using the water bike to reach this location, players should check the circle of stones for a variety of Pokemon Sword and Shield Evolution Stones, including a Water Stone. Fans can also ride their upgraded bikes to the island on Route 2 for yet another Water Stone if there are still some evolutions that they would like to perform.

With respect to exactly how these evolutions are initiated, it is as simple as selecting a Water Stone in the Other Items section of the menu and using it on one of the applicable Pokemon. Again, those Pokemon are Eevee, which evolves into Vaporeon, Shellder, which evolves into Cloyster, and Lombre, which evolves into Ludicolo, and as long as a player remembers to use the Stone on the Pocket Monsters, instead of trying to make them hold it, evolving them should be easy.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available now for Nintendo Switch.
