The latest episode of Night City Wire showcased the vehicles that are found all over Night City and its outskirts. The video included details on specific classes of vehicles found in Cyberpunk 2077 like affordable Economy class, the Executive class for heavy duty vehicles, and the Sport class focused on speed.
While a major focus of the video was on the Foley work done to get the most accurate and immersive vehicle sounds, CD Projekt RED also announced a partnership with noted actor Keanu Reeves, who also voices Johnny Silverhand in the game.
The partnership, which has the developer working with Arch Motorcycle, brings over the Method 143 concept bike, currently in development by Arch, into Cyberpunk 2077. It’s worth noting that Keanu is also part owner of Arch Motorcycle. The Method 143 found in the game is not a one-to-one replica as CD Projekt RED has added a bit of flourish to match the aesthetic of the game.
Keanu’s involvement in Cyberpunk 2077 is significant as the character Johnny Silverhand will play a major role within the game. Aside providing the voice for the character in the game, Keanu has also narrated commercials for Cyberpunk 2077 airing during the NBA finals.
Episode 4 of Night City Wire also brought some good news to Google Stadia owners as CD Projekt RED confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive day and date on the streaming service as it will for PC and console. Owners of Google Stadia are also able to pre-order the game in preparation for the launch date. While the streaming platform isn’t exactly performing well sales wise, the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 is sure to help drive numbers up.
Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED is in the news due to reports of the developer enforcing a crunch period for its staff despite a significant push by the company not to do so a few years ago. Some reports from different outlets have conflicting details causing CD Projeckt RED to respond confirming the news of developer crunch. While it’s worth noting employees are being compensated with better pay and profit sharing, the source of the information came from a developer on the team, indicating not every employee is happy with the decision.
Despite some development delays in the past Cyberpunk 2077 has finally gone gold. This means the game will indeed launch this November which is great news for fans who have been waiting nearly a decade for the game since it’s official announcement at a company summer conference in 2012.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases November 19 on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S support to follow.
