Destiny 2 Players Prep For Next World’s First Raid Race

With Destiny 2: Beyond Light a month away from launch, Bungie is likely putting the finishing touches on the new content. To build further anticipation for Destiny 2’s expansion, the developer has released new information about the next World First raid race.

Bungie announced the Destiny 2: Beyond Light raid will release on Saturday, November 21 at 10 a.m. PT. This gives players a heads up to make preparations with their fireteams, and those who might work weekends the ability to request time off. The developer shared more details on the event for any players planning to take the crown for Destiny 2’s World First and earn a new raid belt.

Bungie states the same rules from past World First raids apply for this one, and that goes double when it concerns disqualification, too. The Contest Mode will have Artifact powers disabled and it will restrict Destiny player power levels to 20 below each encounter for 24 hours. Bungie says the goal is 1230 power for players that want to ensure that they are at the absolute maximum for Contest.

While the setup is the same, the grand finale will have some tweaks. Bungie said that it will take more time to finalize the winner, which means the official announcement for the raid winners will come a little later than usual. This is likely to ensure a valid completion from the World First team and not to award the title to a team that used cheats or hacks to get through the endgame encounters.

Afterward, there will be an award ceremony where the victorious Destiny 2 fireteam is crowned World First, and every member will receive their own raid belt. Everyone else who successfully completes the new Beyond Light raid in the first 24 hours will receive a special emblem.

There will also be a new raid jacket for players who finish the raid before December 1st at 9 a.m. PT. Players will receive a code to purchase the jacket through Bungie Rewards that will remain valid until December 31 at 11:59 PM PT.

Any players that complete the raid will unlock the general raid emblem. The developer continued to announce more updates to Destiny 2, such as improvements to the drop rate of the Destiny 2 Cipher Decoders for Festival of the Lost.

With the DLC’s release less than a month way, Bungie is building up more anticipation for Destiny 2: Beyond Light and the new changes that will come with it. Obviously a new raid is one of the biggest reasons that players are excited but it’s only just one part of the package.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light launches November 10 on PC, PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The PS5 version launches November 12.
