NYC First Responder is First Consumer to Try Xbox Series X

As the release date of the Xbox Series X draws closer, it seems fans all around the world are eager to finally boot up Microsoft’s newest hardware and see what the future of gaming is all about. The Series X will provide enhanced visuals, smoother frame rates, and an SSD capable of unparalleled loading times, allegedly creating the best console experience to date.

Although many would be thrilled to get their hands on the Xbox Series X now, it seems Gamer Tag Radio’s Danny Peña felt a specific member of his podcast’s community was especially deserving of a chance to play the console early. Teaming up with 368, Peña made one of New York City’s brave first responders the first consumer to ever play the upcoming console, with the ensuing hands-on session making for an unbelievably wholesome video.

The footage begins with Peña inviting first responder Michael Santiago to the 368 studio under the pretense of attending a Gamer Tag Radio meet up, surprising him with the opportunity to sit and play the Xbox Series X instead. Santiago is clearly taken aback by the console’s incredible visuals, letting out an audible “wow” at the console’s launch screen alone. His play session sees him jump between a number of high-profile AAA games, including Doom Eternal, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2, and Halo 5: Guardians.

“It’s unbelievable,” Santiago claims when asked about his thoughts on the console. “It’s fast, the graphics are insane,” he continues, going on to claim that the Series X’s quick resume feature is “the future.” It’s clear Santiago is incredibly impressed by his time with the next-generation machine and is clearly overwhelmed by the opportunity to be one of the first to ever get their hands on it. With the coronavirus pandemic taking over a million lives this year, first responders like Michael Santiago are personally putting their lives on the line every single day to ensure the safety of the masses. It’s wonderful to see Peña and the team at 368 look to give back to Santiago for all he’s done for the city of New York during these troubling times.

Alongside getting to try out the console, Santiago was also gifted a years’ subscription of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate by Microsoft and an Astro A20 headset by Astro Gaming. With a year’s access to a host of incredible games and one of the best headsets on the market, it seems the first responder will be all set for his jump to the Xbox Series X when the console officially debuts later this holiday season.

The Xbox Series X and will be available on November 10.
